Located in The Jewellery Quarter, Birmingham, this 4 storey open plan property was fitted with Automist fire suppression to satisfy the requirements of The Building Regulations.
A thorough site survey was conducted to determine the best approach to install the Automist systems with minimal disruption to the finished walls and ceilings. Fire Mist then produced a comprehensive quote which included the installation of the electrical and water supplies as well as all of the Automist hoses, cables and components.
Once our designs were approved by building control, a clear program of works was established with the client due to the short timescale available for the installation works.

In total, 9 wall mounted automist spray heads, 2 pumps and 2 controllers were installed to this property to provide full water mist coverage.
All Automist cables and high pressure hoses were installed with minimal damage to the finished, decorated surfacesThe Automist system fitted to this property utilises hardwired ceiling mounted multi detectors. Multi detectors have the capability of detecting smoke and can detect heat by rate or rise or by peak temperature threshold (57 degrees).
Smoke is often the earliest indicator or fire. The unique design of Automist allows smoke to trigger the first stage of Automist activation (a room scan).
During a room scan, the Automist spray head will measure temperature across a compartment and can identify the heat signature of a fire, even a slow growing under-counter white goods fire. Once identified, Automist will dispense high pressure water mist directly at the fire to prevent growth and extinguish.
